There has been an important change regarding public liability insurance coverage from 1 July 2026 for QuiltNSW-affiliated member groups.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able provide cover for member groups under our policy.

We regret that none of the insurers approached were willing to provide public liability insurance coverage for QuiltNSW member groups. The consistent feedback received was that member groups are considered separate entities and should therefore obtain their own insurance coverage directly.

This change is not the result of any claims history or concerns regarding QuiltNSW member groups but rather reflects the current position of insurers regarding coverage of separate community organisations.

As a result, the public liability insurance cover previously extended to member groups through QuiltNSW will cease when the current policy expires on 30 June 2026.

We understand this news may be disappointing, particularly for smaller groups, and we share your disappointment. Please be assured that QuiltNSW has worked closely with our broker to explore every available option for continuing member group coverage.
