QuiltNSW has established a scheme through which its Member Groups can access public liability insurance under the QuiltNSW policy.  Participation in this scheme is optional and allows Member Groups to access public liability insurance of $20 million subject to the terms of the policy.

The Public and Products Liability Insurance Policy covers the Member Group for legal liability to third parties for injury and/or property damage caused by an occurrence in connection with the Member Group’s core business activities, i.e., meetings, workshops and for an additional premium, exhibitions.

Insurance is due 1 July and covers the financial period 1 July – 30 June in any given year.  All premiums are in AUD and include GST.

In order to access this scheme, the Member Group must:

• be a financial QuiltNSW member, currently $110 per year
• prepare a list of the names of your financial members (in alphabetical order by Family name). You will need to attach this to the Insurance Form. This list can be in Excel, Word or even a photo of the list.
• does you group have an Interested Party that wishes to be named on your insurance certificate. This is usually the landlord of the premises where your group meets. This is not compulsory and the landlord will let you know if they wish to be noted.
• submit the completed Insurance form below
• your premium will be based on the number of members in your group. Currently this is $9.00 per member. The premium is based on ALL members of your group.
• an additional premium is payable for any exhibitions you are hosting. The current premium for insurance to cover an exhibition is $55.00 per venue for coverage up to 1000 expected visitors per venue. If you are expecting more than 1000 visitors for a venue, there will be an additional premium of $55.00 for each venue this applies to. If this occurs, we will contact you to arrange payment of this additional premium.
• pay the required fee as calculated on the form.

When your form and payment is received, your group can be added to the QuiltNSW policy. Your group will be issued with a Certificate of Currency confirming your coverage. This Certificate will be emailed to you and will also be available on-line in your Membership Profile. Please note that for the new financial year, the Certificates will not be available until mid July.

If your group already holds their public liability insurance through QuiltNSW and you need to add additional members for the current financial year this maybe done by submitting the Additional Members Form below.

You will need to upload a list of the new members and pay the required fee as calculated by the from.
